The Veda’s

Vedas are texts, believed to be originating in ancient India. They are composed in Sanskrit and the text constitute of the oldest scriptures of Hinduism. According to Hindu tradition, Brahmins created Veda’s. There are four types of vedas in historical Vedic religion. They are Rigveda, Yajurveda, Samaveda and Atharvaveda. Because of the age of these books, they aren’t widely available.

These ancient texts fascinated me. I decided to plan a small shoot with my team to film all these vedas.

My research work lead me to Swami Agnivesh, an Indian politician and a former Member of the Legislative Assembly for the Indian state of Haryana. Also an Arya Samaj scholar, and a social activist. He has the complete set of texts of veda’s – Rigveda, Yajurveda, Samaveda and Atharvaveda.

We visited his office and found a kind, cooperative man.  He explained that even though the Veda texts are part of the Hinduism ancient history, it is still relevant in today’s life.  And can be used as guidelines for life today.

An intriguing shoot as I had the opportunity to learn about other religious books of our ancient culture.
